What is a church?
Church means a group of called out people who gather together in the name of Jesus Christ who is the Head of the church. The church has only one canon that it follows, which is the Word of God (Bible) and follows its teachings and practices.  The main aim of the church is to worship God and propagate the gospel for the glory of the Lord.

What is the Gospel?
The Bible teaches that all are sinners and are worthy of punishment of eternal death (Rom 3:23 and 6:23). However, because of God’s great love to mankind, God prepared a way of salvation so that repentant mankind can come to salvation and thus avoid eternal death.
John 3: 16 ” For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have ever lasting life“.

God’s only begotten son Jesus Christ came into this world at the fullness of time and took upon himself the punishment of sin on behalf of man and became a propitiation for sin. Jesus Christ died on the cross and was buried, but he rose again victoriously on the third day and He is seated at the right hand of his beloved Father in heaven.  All those who confess their sin, believe in Jesus Christ and accept him as their personal Saviour and Lord, will be delivered from eternal death. They will be called the children of God or born-again people.  This is the good news or the Gospel.

Who are the Brethren?
In the first century, the disciples of Jesus Christ were called Christians ie. followers of Jesus Christ. The disciples visited different parts of the world including Kerala and preached the Gospel and established churches.
